Our 8th Annual Harvest Fair will take place at the Spencer Creek Grange on October 7th, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cider pressing will take place throughout the day. You’ll get a gallon of cider for every 10 to 15 pounds of apples. Although we try and have some containers available, it’s best if you bring clean containers along with your apples. The apples don’t have to be perfect — if the apples are good enough to trim and eat, they’re fine for cider. Hillside Fruit Farm will be likely be selling apples at the market, as well.

Live music will take place all day. Check our Music Calendar for details after the 2017 season gets rolling…

A gourmet lunch will be served — menu details will be posted here. Our 2016 menu included fish chowder or vegan black bean soup, sourdough rolls made from locally grown Red Fife heirloom wheat, wheat free corn bread, salad, apple and honey walnut pies with whipped cream. Proceeds from Harvest Fair lunches benefit the Spencer Creek Community Growers’ Market.

At this past year’s Harvest Fair, our produce vendors were selling honey, canned preserves, salsa, fresh fruit and a selection of veggies that included melons, summer & winter squash (including pumpkins), hybrid and heirloom tomatoes big & small, carrots, potatoes, onions, kale, arugula, baby spinach, garlic, sweet corn, quinoa, basil and plenty of beans and peppers. We also had chicken, turkey and duck eggs for sale. Angela of Phoenix Farm Enterprises had pasture raised meats, including chicken, duck and rabbit. A total of twenty vendors and five bands participated in our 2016 Harvest Fair. We’ll have detailed info on vendors and their offerings as Harvest Fair 2017 approaches.
