Yet it’s the simplicity of his music that brings the listener in. Armed with only an acoustic guitar\, Sean is able to bring every aspect out of the instrument from the percussive way he hammers the string to provide the beat to the elegant phrasing of his melodies. One of Sean’s passions is traveling and you feel every footstep\, every mile crossed in the matter of minutes throughout his albums. It truly is the perfect music with which to relax and enjoy the ride. \nHis musical passion began as most teenage boys do\, falling in love with the guitar licks of Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen. In the pursuit of his passion\, Sean found himself studying Jazz and Classical Guitar under the likes of jazz guitarist Don Linke and composer John Downey at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. \nHis time at UWM cultivated the amazing guitar stylings Sean uses today. Sean has released four instrumental guitar albums with a fifth on the way in 2014. Each album displays the mastery of American Fingerstyle. His love of the road gives each album the touch required to transform the listener on his journey through America. \nSean has lived in Wisconsin\, Colorado\, and currently lives in Springfield\, Oregon. Still restless he always looks forward to being able to hit the road for new sights and old friends.

Armed with only an acoustic guitar\, Sean is able to bring every aspect out of the instrument from the percussive way he hammers the string to provide the beat to the elegant phrasing of his melodies. One of Sean’s passions is traveling and you feel every footstep\, every mile crossed in the matter of minutes throughout his albums. It truly is the perfect music with which to relax and enjoy the ride. \nHis musical passion began as most teenage boys do\, falling in love with the guitar licks of Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen. In the pursuit of his passion\, Sean found himself studying Jazz and Classical Guitar under the likes of jazz guitarist Don Linke and composer John Downey at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. \nHis time at UWM cultivated the amazing guitar stylings Sean uses today. Sean has released four instrumental guitar albums with a fifth on the way in 2014. Each album displays the mastery of American Fingerstyle. His love of the road gives each album the touch required to transform the listener on his journey through America. \nSean has lived in Wisconsin\, Colorado\, and currently lives in Springfield\, Oregon. Still restless he always looks forward to being able to hit the road for new sights and old friends.

DESCRIPTION:With a host of traditional instruments\, sing-along choruses\, and carefully crafted lyrics\, the Low Tide Drifters create original roots-based songs that reflect the struggles and stories of everyday people in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.  Influenced by Woody Guthrie\, Utah Phillips\, Harry Stamper\, Hazel Dickens\, and other socially conscious songwriters of all musical genres\, they bring a respect for the past and a concern for the future to their particular brand of “underdog folk music.” \nThe Low Tide Drifters started performing in 2007 as a trio made up of husband-and-wife songwriting duo Nathan Moore and Kate Downing and harmonica player Dennis Soper. Since then\, the group has evolved and expanded\, and the current lineup includes multi-instrumentalist Chico Schwall\, percussionist Wendy Schwall\, and bassist Rachael Young. They have performed everywhere from large concert halls\, folk clubs\, and coffee houses to union halls\, university classrooms\, and retirement homes. As activist musicians\, they continue to donate their talents to human rights\, labor\, and other community organizations by performing frequently at benefit concerts and fundraisers. \nIn 2011\, the Low Tide Drifters released their first full-length album\, New Hard Time Blues.  A diverse collection of songs about activism\, parenthood\, and working-class life in the Pacific Northwest\, the album received positive reviews as well as national and international airplay.  Music for the Rest of Us is their second full-length album\, and it features eight original compositions along with cover versions of songs by folksinger and longshoreman Harry Stamper and Scottish songwriter Alistair Hulett.
